Critical cap welds on single crystal 3rd,4th &5th generation superalloy, ultra hot-section blades
"Dr Harvey’s knowledge and quick response has been invaluable. Turbine component fabricator"
Eclipse Welding Metallurgy is involved with the advanced constricted arc GTAW process, where magnetic stirring pinches the fine arc to a low-heat, precision welding heat source. This leading-edge arc fusion technology is ideal for welding the third, fourth and fifth generation of investment cast nickel superalloys and helps to offset susceptible liquation-cracking tendency. InterPulse welding power sources are also ideal for use in titanium alloy fabrication.
This new welding technology is designed to be shop-floor friendly and is able to minimize re-work issues that are commonly encountered with some gas turbine, hot-section components when they are submitted for MRO or when new components require a weld application.
Arrangements can be made for detailed training of InterPulse GTCAW equipment. The equipment is also available for hire.
Training/Teaching and knowledge refreshment can be provided for metallurgy and welding metallurgy and filler metal selection.
Eclipse is also able to teach clients about filler metal manufacture and formulation, including SAW, MMAW, FCAW &SOLID ELECTRODE WIRE design and applications.
