Eclipse Filler Metal Services was founded in 1995 and worked closely with Associated Welding & Metallurgy (AWM).
The latter business provided welding engineering services in association with the former Dimetrics Equipment products (now Liburdi).Eclipse FMS provided high purity, aerospace grade welding filler metals and advisory metallurgy for gas turbine applications, including release to the Rolls-Royce MSRR9500 series, through CQC 103 credentials.. After a rapid period of growth, the Eclipse business merged with the VBC Group Ltd (Vacuum Brazing Consultants), under the dynamic ownership of Dr Peter Fell. VBC proceeded to grow into a leading consultancy, specialised welding equipment manufacturer and supplier of vacuum brazing and welding filler metals for aerospace, defence and nuclear applications. Dr Harvey served on the board of directors as company secretary and Technical Director.
After retirement, David W Harvey, re-established Eclipse Welding Metallurgy in order to provide a much needed advisory service concerned with metallurgical support.
